In a significant humanitarian step that reflects a practical and ongoing commitment to the suffering of displaced residents in the Gaza Strip, the process of resettlement in Al-Zahraa camp began under the direct supervision and implementation of the Egyptian committee, as part of a comprehensive Egyptian plan aimed at strengthening shelter efforts and moving from temporary solutions to a more stable and organized reality for affected families.
Al-Zahraa Camp is one of the largest housing projects implemented in recent times, comprising 900 tents that have been fully equipped to be habitable, taking into account the minimum requirements for a decent life for displaced families who have lost their homes as a result of the exceptional circumstances in the Strip.
Efforts were not limited to setting up tents, but also included the creation of an integrated infrastructure within the camp, including organized streets to facilitate the movement of residents, public spaces that allow for a sense of community life, as well as the provision of toilets and basic services that contribute to maintaining public health and reducing environmental risks. In addition, food aid and daily necessities were provided to residents as the resettlement process began.
The Egyptian Committee emphasized that this intervention is part of a broader humanitarian vision that seeks to alleviate the suffering of displaced Palestinian families and support their resilience in the face of harsh conditions by providing a safer and more organized environment that preserves human dignity and alleviates the burden of displacement and deprivation.
The Egyptian committee continues to implement its field interventions in various areas of the Gaza Strip, in coordination with the relevant authorities, believing that humanitarian work is not limited to emergency response, but requires sustainable solutions that put people and their needs at the forefront of priorities, especially in light of the unprecedented humanitarian challenges facing the Strip.
