In an urgent humanitarian step, the Egyptian Committee for the Relief of the People of Gaza has begun drilling water wells inside the camps it established in northern Gaza, as part of its efforts to provide safe drinking water and shelter for displaced families.

The Committee’s spokesperson, Mohamed Mansour, explained that the new camps — including Camps 11, 12, 13, and 14 — contain schools, medical clinics, bakeries, temporary tents, and alternative water wells that were created after the destruction of infrastructure in the area.

He added: “We are drilling wells and pumping potable water, distributing it as part of a comprehensive support plan for the displaced, aimed at strengthening the resilience of Gaza’s residents and preventing their displacement.”

These measures come amid a severe humanitarian situation in northern Gaza, where it is estimated that the Committee has housed more than 15,000 displaced families across 13 designated shelter sites as of mid-October 2025, alongside the operation of relief centers working around the clock.
