This morning, the Egyptian Committee for the Relief of the People of Gaza began distributing humanitarian aid to residents of Gaza City and northern Gaza through its recently inaugurated main center in the city, as part of ongoing Egyptian efforts to support civilians affected by the war and alleviate their humanitarian suffering.
The aid includes comprehensive food baskets, essential supplies, and urgent medical and relief items, delivered directly to citizens in coordination with local authorities and neighborhood committees to ensure it reaches those most in need.
The Committee confirmed that this initiative is implemented in line with the directives of the Egyptian leadership to expand the scope of humanitarian support to cover all areas of northern Gaza, especially neighborhoods that experienced supply disruptions in recent months.
The Committee’s center in Gaza City is considered the first permanent Egyptian distribution point in the city, aiming to provide daily food and medical assistance, as well as receiving the most vulnerable cases and directing them to Egyptian-run shelter camps in the north.
The first day witnessed a large turnout of residents, who expressed gratitude for Egypt’s continued support for Gaza, noting that this initiative represents a renewed beacon of hope amid the challenging conditions in the Strip.
The Egyptian Committee continues to implement a comprehensive relief plan to gradually restore normal life in northern Gaza, including providing water, food, and healthcare, as part of an integrated humanitarian vision aimed at alleviating suffering and strengthening resilience.
