With the onset of the storm that affected various
governorates in the Gaza Strip, the Egyptian Committee formed
a special emergency team to bolster the capabilities of the local emergency
response system and support it in dealing with the severe weather conditions.
The Committee mobilized all its available resources to support the relevant
authorities in each
governorate, namely:
Immediately upon receiving the weather warnings, the
committee set up a joint operations room and geographically distributed
emergency teams to ensure a rapid and effective response in all affected areas.
To enhance intervention and response capabilities, the
Committee deployed and distributed the following machinery in the Gaza Strip
governorates:
40 bulldozers deployed across various
governorates to assist in clearing roads, removing debris, and addressing the
effects of wind and rain.
20 dump trucks that supported the transport of
sand and fill material and field interventions in affected areas.
A large number of tents were provided for use as temporary
shelters for affected families, based on the needs of field teams and requests
from OCHA and the Civil Defense 102 hotline.
The committee prepared and distributed comprehensive shelter
kits containing:
These were distributed to the most affected families based
on reports received from field teams.
The committee's emergency teams carried out a series of
urgent interventions in various governorates, including:
The Egyptian Committee confirms that it will
continue to work alongside all the competent authorities to mitigate the
effects of the depression on the population, and to ensure the availability of
logistical and relief support at any time required
by weather and humanitarian conditions.
