As part of Egypt’s humanitarian role in supporting the Palestinian people, the Egyptian Committee for the Relief of the People of Gaza announced a joint cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to facilitate the transport and reception of released Palestinian prisoners from Israeli jails.
The cooperation included providing specially equipped buses to transport the freed detainees from handover points at the border crossings to reception areas inside the Gaza Strip, under the supervision of Egyptian field teams and with the accompaniment of Red Cross medical and humanitarian staff to ensure their safety and well-being.
The Egyptian Committee affirmed that this initiative falls within Egypt’s ongoing commitment to international humanitarian efforts, providing logistical support to ensure the safe and organized return of the released prisoners to their families.
The Committee also organized a welcoming ceremony at one of its facilities inside Gaza, where urgent medical and food assistance was delivered, along with psychological and social support programs as part of a comprehensive reintegration plan.
This cooperation represents an important humanitarian milestone, underscoring Egypt’s central role in coordinating regional and international efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people and support the cause of prisoners as both a national and humanitarian issue.
