In a new humanitarian initiative highlighting Egypt’s deep role in supporting the Palestinian people, the Egyptian Committee for the Relief of the People of Gaza, in collaboration with the Egyptian Red Crescent and several Egyptian civil society organizations, launched an extensive campaign to distribute milk and nutritional supplements for children across the Gaza Strip, particularly in affected areas and shelter centers.
The campaign involved distributing thousands of milk packs and high-value nutritional supplements to infants and children suffering from malnutrition, alongside therapeutic nutritional products and specialized foods for children in hospitals and medical centers in Gaza City and northern Gaza.
The Egyptian Committee emphasized that this initiative is an urgent response to children’s nutritional needs amid severe shortages of food and healthcare, noting that its field teams are working in coordination with the Egyptian Red Crescent to ensure aid reaches all affected areas.
A representative of the Egyptian Red Crescent stated that the campaign is part of the “From Egypt to Gaza” initiative, which also includes sending regular shipments of fortified milk and pediatric medicines, with Red Crescent teams comprising hundreds of volunteers working around the clock to distribute food and medical supplies and supervise humanitarian services on the ground.
These efforts form part of Egypt’s comprehensive humanitarian plan to support Gaza residents, in cooperation with international and relief organizations, ensuring access to food, healthcare, and support for children, women, and the most vulnerable groups.
The Egyptian Committee praised the significant contribution of Egyptian civil society organizations, which helped prepare and package the aid inside Egypt before sending it to Gaza, emphasizing that this initiative is not the last, but rather represents a new phase of Egypt’s ongoing relief work in Gaza.
