In a field operation reflecting Egypt’s strong commitment to supporting the Palestinian people, the Egyptian Committee for Relief and Support of the Palestinian People began extensive land clearing today in the Netsarim area, south of the Gaza Strip, in preparation for establishing the largest humanitarian shelter camp in the Strip, covering an estimated area of around 2,000 dunams.
This project aims to provide safe and dignified shelter for more than 15,000 Palestinian families who have lost their homes due to the difficult humanitarian conditions in the Strip.
Since the early morning hours, Egyptian engineering convoys and heavy machinery have been moving from the Zawayda area along Salah al-Din Street toward the work site in Netsarim, showcasing the organized Egyptian effort on the ground.
The Egyptian Committee confirmed that this project is part of a comprehensive plan to establish new camps in the northern and southern parts of the Strip, ensuring a safe environment for displaced people and facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid to them.
It added that work is progressing rapidly under the supervision of the Committee’s engineering teams, who are leveling the land and preparing it to host tents and essential service facilities.
This initiative reflects Egypt’s determination to continue its humanitarian and developmental role within the Gaza Strip and translate its solidarity with the Palestinian people into tangible actions and real projects on the ground.
