As part of the ongoing humanitarian efforts led by the Egyptian Committee, field teams continue to implement a comprehensive project to establish temporary shelter camps in both northern and southern Gaza, providing safe and dignified accommodation for thousands of families who lost their homes due to the aggression.

This initiative comes within the framework of Egypt’s comprehensive plan to support the people of Gaza, under the direct guidance of the Egyptian leadership, to meet citizens’ needs amid the difficult humanitarian conditions in the Strip.

Southern Camps: Expansion and Increased Capacity for the Displaced

The Egyptian Committee has begun establishing and equipping several camps in the Khan Younis and Rafah areas. Open spaces have been allocated to set up tents equipped with all basic necessities — including bedding, flooring, and plastic insulation — in addition to mobile toilets, electric generators, and temporary water and sewage networks.

One of the key sites in the southern region is the area surrounding Al-Aqsa University in Khan Younis, which has already accommodated hundreds of families. Meanwhile, Egyptian teams continue to expand into western and eastern parts of the city to host more displaced households.

The Committee’s team works in full coordination with local municipalities and Palestinian authorities to ensure a safe and healthy camp environment. This includes establishing educational and health centers within the camps, distributing safe drinking water, and providing field ambulance points.

Northern Camps: Advanced Facilities and Rapid Response

In northern Gaza, the Egyptian Committee has begun preparing a series of camps across multiple areas to provide shelter for families displaced from Gaza City and the northern districts.

Efforts are currently focused on three main sites:

Al-Maqousi area, northwest of Gaza City.

Al-17 area, west of Beit Lahia

Halaweh area, along the northern coastal strip.

Recently, mobile toilets and essential logistics equipment have arrived at these locations, with installation and distribution currently underway to ensure a humane and safe living environment — particularly as winter approaches.

Comprehensive Coordination with Local Institutions

The Egyptian Committee emphasizes that the selection of camp locations and service distribution are carried out in full coordination with local municipalities and community representatives, ensuring fair distribution and that aid reaches those most in need.

Each family elder (“mukhtar”) supervises the registration and distribution process within their area, receiving and delivering the aid packages allocated to their family members directly. This system strengthens transparency and ensures accurate delivery.

Egypt’s Steadfast Commitment to Gaza

A senior official from the Egyptian Committee stated that “field operations are progressing rapidly to prepare as many camps as possible before the peak of winter,” adding that “these efforts are part of Egypt’s comprehensive vision that balances immediate relief with long-term reconstruction.”

He added that the Committee’s teams continue, around the clock, to pave roads, dig wells, and distribute food and clean water — in cooperation with local partners and humanitarian organizations operating in the Strip.

Towards a Safer and More Stable Environment

These camps are part of an integrated Egyptian plan covering both the northern and southern regions of Gaza, aimed at providing temporary housing and essential basic services until the reconstruction and rebuilding phases are completed.

The Egyptian Committee reaffirms its commitment to continuing its support and enhancing the humanitarian relief system in Gaza — ensuring transparency, fairness, and continuity in serving the Palestinian people.
