For the second consecutive day, the Egyptian Committee has continued the rollout of large-scale humanitarian interventions to facilitate the safe relocation of affected families from southern Gaza to northern areas of the Strip, as part of sustained efforts to alleviate civilian suffering and support the voluntary return of populations to their areas of origin amid rapidly deteriorating humanitarian conditions.
The interventions included the coordinated organization of transportation for families unable to return independently, with appropriate and safe transport arrangements secured to ensure dignified arrival. Priority was given to older persons, children, women, and families facing heightened vulnerability, with operations implemented through continuous field coordination to ensure efficiency and the full respect of human dignity.
In parallel, the Egyptian Committee’s field teams distributed comprehensive shelter kits to families lacking adequate housing. The assistance packages comprised tents, food parcels, sacks of flour, and other essential relief items, aimed at meeting minimum humanitarian standards and enabling immediate stabilization upon families’ return to their areas of residence.
The Egyptian Committee confirmed that these interventions form part of an ongoing, needs-based humanitarian response, implemented in direct response to verified field assessments, particularly in light of the extensive destruction of homes and critical infrastructure, which has left thousands of families without shelter or sustainable means of livelihood.
The relocation and shelter assistance operations were met with positive community feedback, as affected families expressed appreciation for the support provided, which contributed to easing their hardship and facilitating their return despite persistent challenges on the ground.
