In a notable humanitarian step, the Egyptian Committee inaugurated a relief center in Gaza City, aimed at serving residents of the northern areas of the Strip. The center officially began its operations on October 24, 2025, amid the severe damage suffered in northern Gaza.

Coinciding with the opening, the first convoy of 50 trucks loaded with essential food supplies, medical equipment, and shelter tents departed from the southern part of the Strip toward the committee’s headquarters in Gaza City, in preparation for distributing the aid to northern areas currently facing a humanitarian emergency.

This initiative comes as part of expanded Egyptian efforts recently announced to deliver aid to Gaza. The Egyptian Red Crescent has declared the dispatch of over 423 trucks carrying more than 10,000 tons of food, fuel, and medical supplies to the Strip under the initiative “Zad Al-Ezzah: From Egypt to Gaza.”

Sources indicate that this move represents a qualitative boost in an urgent relief plan, following years of infrastructure destruction and a surge in humanitarian needs to levels resembling a disaster zone.

In addition, sources confirmed that the current aid shipments include construction equipment and temporary tents to provide immediate shelter, along with emergency medical care supplies, particularly for northern Gaza, which continues to suffer from widespread displacement and acute service shortages.

The Egyptian side emphasized that this step marks “a practical start to ensuring the needs of affected residents in the north,” noting that the newly opened center will play a logistical and administrative role in coordinating and effectively distributing aid.
